ISO 7 Clean Booth Project
This ISO 7 clean booth project was designed for a precision assembly and inspection facility in Bangkok, Thailand. The client needed a local clean environment inside an existing production hall for component inspection, small-part assembly, material staging, and controlled workstation operation.
STJh Cleanroom provided a complete ISO 7 clean booth solution including aluminum frame structure, transparent PVC strip curtains, ceiling-mounted FFU units, HEPA filtration, LED lighting, anti-static workbenches, microscope inspection stations, wire shelving racks, rolling carts, and clean material staging areas.
The project was designed as a softwall clean booth instead of a full hardwall cleanroom. This allowed the client to upgrade only the key production area while keeping the existing workshop layout unchanged. The clean booth provides a bright, flexible, and cost-controlled clean workspace for sensitive operations that require better particle control than a general factory environment.

Project Background
The client had an existing production hall with enough general working space, but several key processes required better cleanliness control. Component inspection, precision assembly, testing, and material staging were previously exposed to the surrounding workshop environment. Dust, particles, and uncontrolled airflow could affect product handling and inspection quality.
A full cleanroom renovation was not necessary for the entire facility. The client only needed a controlled local clean area for several workstations. Based on the required cleanliness level, available factory space, installation time, and project budget, STJh Cleanroom recommended an ISO 7 clean booth solution.
The final clean booth provides a clean and visible work area inside the existing factory. The transparent PVC curtain design allows staff and supervisors to observe the process from outside, while the FFU and HEPA filtration system helps reduce airborne particles inside the booth.
Client Pain Points
No dedicated ISO 7 local clean area: Sensitive inspection and assembly operations were performed in a general workshop environment.
Full cleanroom construction was not required: The client only needed a controlled clean area for several key processes, not the whole production hall.
Particle control was needed: Components, small parts, and inspection workstations required better protection from airborne particles.
Existing factory layout had to remain flexible: The client wanted to avoid permanent construction that would affect future production changes.
Workstation layout needed improvement: Benches, microscopes, trays, tools, and material racks needed to be arranged in a cleaner and more organized way.
Supervision visibility was important: Managers needed to observe the clean operation area without frequent entry.
Clean Booth Solution
STJh Cleanroom designed an ISO 7 clean booth based on the client’s workshop size, required clean area, workstation quantity, product handling process, and airflow requirements. The clean booth uses a lightweight aluminum frame and transparent PVC softwall curtains to form a controlled local clean area.
Multiple FFU units with HEPA filters were installed on the top of the booth to provide filtered air supply. The number and arrangement of FFU units were planned according to the booth size, workstation positions, and ISO 7 cleanliness target. Bright LED lights were integrated into the ceiling area to support inspection and detailed manual operation.
Inside the clean booth, workbenches, microscopes, task lamps, storage racks, rolling carts, and component trays were arranged to support daily production. The layout was kept open and uncluttered so operators could move easily and materials could be staged without blocking the working area.
Key Clean Booth Systems
1. Aluminum Frame Structure
The clean booth uses an aluminum profile frame system. The structure is stable, lightweight, and suitable for fast installation inside an existing factory. It supports the top FFU units, LED lighting, PVC curtain system, and clean booth accessories.
Lightweight aluminum profile construction
Stable support for FFU and lighting installation
Flexible booth size according to site layout
Suitable for local clean area upgrades
2. Transparent PVC Softwall System
Transparent PVC strip curtains were installed around the booth to create a clean enclosed area while keeping the internal operation visible. The softwall system provides practical separation from the surrounding factory and allows easy personnel and material access.
Clear PVC strip curtain enclosure
Good visibility for operation supervision
Flexible access for operators and rolling carts
Easier adjustment than fixed hardwall construction
3. FFU And HEPA Filtration System
The booth is equipped with ceiling-mounted FFU units and HEPA filters. The system supplies filtered air into the clean booth and helps maintain the ISO 7 local clean environment. FFU quantity and layout can be adjusted according to room size, process risk, and airflow requirements.
Top-mounted FFU units
HEPA filter clean air supply
Airflow planning for ISO 7 local cleanliness
Configurable according to booth size and process requirement
4. LED Lighting System
Bright LED lighting was arranged inside the clean booth to provide a clear visual environment for inspection, assembly, testing, and material handling. The lighting design helps reduce shadows on workstations and improves operator comfort during detailed work.
Integrated LED ceiling lights
Bright working environment for inspection
Reduced shadows around workstations
Suitable for microscope and manual assembly operations
5. Clean Workstation System
The internal workstation system includes anti-static workbenches, stainless or aluminum worktables, microscope stations, task lamps, chairs, and equipment positions. The layout supports precision assembly and inspection while keeping the working area organized.
Anti-static workbenches
Microscope inspection stations
Adjustable task lamps
Practical workstation layout for daily operation
6. Material Staging And Storage System
Wire shelving carts and rolling racks were used for material staging inside and around the booth. Components, trays, small parts, and finished items can be organized on mobile racks, reducing unnecessary movement and keeping the booth interior clean and efficient.
Wire shelving racks on casters
Component trays and black storage bins
Mobile carts for flexible material handling
Clear material staging route
7. Inspection And Testing Area
Inspection stations were arranged inside the booth for detailed component checking and product verification. Microscope benches, task lights, trays, and work surfaces were positioned to support stable operation under a cleaner ISO 7 local environment.
Microscope inspection benches
Component checking and small-part inspection
Clean local environment for sensitive processes
Suitable for electronics, precision parts, and laboratory applications
Problems Solved for the Client
